On Thursday, Nov. 3, the High Meadows School will hold a special event with Madeline Levine, author of The New York Times bestseller “Teach Your Children Well: Why Values and Coping Skills Matter More Than Grades, Trophies or ‘Fat Envelopes.’ ”

The event takes place from 7-9 p.m. in the community center at the school, located at 1055 Willeo Road in Roswell. Registration is required and limited; click here to sign up. Levine will have a Q &A at the end of her presentation as well as a book signing. Madeline Levine is a psychologist with over 30 years of experience as a clinician, consultant, and educator. Her previous book “The Price of Privilege: How Parental Pressure and Material Advantage Are Creating a Generation of Disconnected and Unhappy Kids,” explores the reasons why teenagers from affluent families are experiencing epidemic rates of emotional problems.

Backed by cutting edge research, Levine proposes solutions that are both practical and credible. “Teach Your Children Well” is a toolbox for parents, providing information, relevant research, and a series of exercises to help parents clarify a definition of success that is in line with their own values as well as their children’s interests and abilities.
