In her new role at Dermatology Affiliates, Dr. Anita Shetty is excited about joining a top-notch practice that offers a comprehensive approach to dermatology encompassing medical, cosmetic, laser, and aesthetic services. But equally as appealing is practicing in her East Cobb community, serving neighbors and friends.
A native of Augusta, Georgia, Dr. Shetty received a degree in computer science from the Georgia Institute of Technology. She then went on to secure her doctorate in medicine from the Medical College of Georgia. She completed her internship in Internal Medicine at the Medical College of Georgia and her Dermatology Residency at Loyola University Medical Center. She is board certified in dermatology and a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology. To Dermatology Affiliates, Dr. Shetty brings with her seven years of experience as a dermatologist from practices in the metro Atlanta area.
When entering the medical field, Dr. Shetty says her first inclination was to specialize in pediatrics or obstetrics. However, her exposure to the field of dermatology completely changed her direction. “What I love about dermatology is that every day is different,” says Dr. Shetty. “I see both male and female patients of all ages. Some days are primarily about surgical procedures while other days involve disease diagnosis and treatment or cosmetic procedures. I really feel that I make a difference in people’s lives.”
Dermatology Affiliates provides complete skin care, from cancer and acne treatments to procedures that eliminate sun damage and signs of aging. As a board-certified dermatologist, Dr. Shetty is skilled in all aspects of medical dermatology, which includes the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of skin, nail, and hair diseases. She is also experienced in cosmetic dermatology, which focuses on changes in the skin’s appearance from sun damage, aging, and skin conditions. Cosmetic dermatology includes a specialized expertise in injectables and dermal fillers.
Dr. Shetty adds that she enjoys working in East Cobb, where she has lived for six years with her husband. They have three daughters, ages 7, 5 and 2. She sees patients at the East Cobb office, which is located at 4939 Lower Roswell Road, Suite 104A, on Monday, Thursday, and Friday. She travels to the Alpharetta office on Wednesday for appointments. She likes working at this office as well – it’s just a little more of a commute, she comments. Dermatology Affiliates has two additional offices in Buckhead and Midtown.
