JANEY WALKER, OWNER OF STUDIO 348 PERSONAL TRAINING FOR WOMENEAST COBB BUSINESS PROFILE: STUDIO 348 PERSONAL TRAINING FOR WOMEN 1

Job title: Owner

Year founded: 2011

Website: http://www.studio348forwomen.com

What does your business do?
We offer semi-private personal training for women. Our fitness program includes strength, cardio, flexibility, and balance. We customize the workouts for each individual fitness level. We provide a safe, supportive, and fun environment for women to improve their health through fitness and nutrition.

Why did you start your business?
I started my business because I wanted the camaraderie and energy of a group fitness class combined with the individual attention of personal training. I created a program that combined the best of both worlds – fitness classes and personal training.

What is your favorite part of your business?
My favorite part of my business is getting to know our clients. They become like family. In the short-term, we work hard together, cheer each other on, and often share those deep belly laughs. In the long-term, I get to witness true transformation in the lives of these women. I’m lucky to have found my purpose and can’t imagine doing anything else with my life.

How are you passing your time during the COVID crisis?
For the first few weeks of COVID, I was busier than ever trying to keep our clients engaged and healthy while we worked on creating a virtual training program. Once we launched virtual training sessions, things settled down a little. On the beautiful days, I have been working in my yard and going on walks. On the rainy days, I read, watch TV, take naps, and scroll through my phone a little more than I’d like to admit.

Where were you born? Memphis, Tennessee

What are your hobbies/interests outside of your business?
I play in two sports leagues – softball and flag football. When I’m not playing or watching sports, I like to hike. I also like to try new restaurants. Occasionally, I enjoy binge watching a good show.
